Theorem II

the Co-Eutrigon Theorem
a visual proof

Co-eutrigon Theorem, painting and visual proof of the geometric theorem

acrylic painting (red, yellow , blue, white, and black) on diamond-shaped canvas, mounted on board; 198 cm (h) x
114 cm (w), © 2003 Wayne Roberts. All rights reserved.

In terms of etu, the new relative units of area, in the painting, the area of one white triangle (a co-eutrigon*) equals the area of the blue triangle minus the sum of the areas of one red and one yellow triangle. The painting provides a visual proof of this new Pythagoras-like theorem (which I call the Co-eutrigon Theorem) for triangles in which one angle is always 120°.
